Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Escrow Specialist is to administer all aspects of the escrow account including tax, insurance, escrow analysis, and escrow account maintenance in the servicing system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures real estate tax, insurance, and PMI/MIP payments are paid on a timely basis and premium updates are accurately inputted into the servicing system. Researches and pays delinquent taxes. Contacts agencies, vendors, and borrowers when needed.
- Ensures the timely completion of all escrow related notifications to customers as required by state and federal law including annual escrow analysis, short year statements and PMI termination letters. Researches escrow disputes from borrowers.
- Manages all account maintenance in the servicing system for escrow accounts including new account set up, deletion, rate updates and account changes.
- Works with borrowers and contractors to ensure repair of damaged properties in compliance with state and investor regulations. Handles mortgage insurance claims including ordering property inspections, monitoring repairs and dispersing funds when appropriate.
- Monitors the vendor relationships for Insurance the Real Estate Tax.
- Monitors the placement of lender-placed homeowners and flood insurance ensuring timely premium payments. Files claims with the vendor as appropriate.
- Completes the imaging of loan documents and other trailing documents for record retention.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- Previous loan servicing, insurance or real estate tax experience preferred
Functional/Technical Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and research issues when needed
- Displays strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities
- Effectively manages time and meets deadlines
- Possesses strong mathematical skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
